If you are running Facebook ads and want to track sales conversions, you will need to add a Facebook conversion pixel to the thank-you page in your purchase process. Since the thank-you page is usually the Summit Evergreen course registration page, you will need to follow these instructions to put a Facebook pixel on this page. Once your Google Tag Manager account is set up, you can then put a Facebook pixel on a Summit Evergreen page as follows:
Step 1: Configure your Google Tag Manager Account with Summit Evergreen
- In left navigation menu, select “Settings”, then “Account”
- In the left pane, select “Product Settings”
- This will bring up a page containing various product settings – at the bottom of this page, in the “E-Commerce” section, for “Tracking Platform”, select “Google Tag Manager”
- Enter your account number.
- Hit “Save” in the lower right corner
Step 2: Add Code from Google Tag Manager to Summit Evergreen
Login to your Google Tag Manager account
- Go to “Admin” and then “Install Google Tag Manager”
- Copy the code provided by Google Tag Manager – you will need to paste it into Summit Evergreen
- In Summit Evergreen, make sure the correct product is selected from the product drop down menu in the upper left corner
- In the left navigation menu, select “Appearance”, then “Theme”
- Select your theme in the left pane
- This will bring up a page in the right pane that provides theme details – in this page, scroll down to the section called “Header & Footer Scripts”
- In the “Header Scripts” box in this section, paste the code you copied from Google Tag Manager
- Hit “Save” in the lower right corner
Step 3: Add your Facebook Pixel and Product URL into Google Tag Manager
- In Google Tag Manager, click “Tags” from the left navigation menu, and then select to add a new tag
- Select the button “create a custom HTML” tag
- Paste your Facebook Pixel from your ads manager and save
- Set this to trigger on “some pages” and a pop-up box will appear
- Select “page path” under “variable”
- Select “equals” under “operation”
- Under “value” enter /checkout/thankyou/
- Hit save
- Now your Facebook pixel will trigger on the Summit Evergreen checkout thank-you page, so you can track conversions from ads
